Why we built it
A tindahan is the small shop on the corner — the one run by somebody you know. The idea here is the same, online: a place where an ordinary person with a few things to sell can set up without a business permit, a warehouse, or a monthly subscription eating their margin.
The big marketplaces take a cut of every sale. We do not. A seller pays ₱50 one time to be verified, and after that keeps the full price of everything they sell.
How it works
If you are buying
Browsing costs nothing and needs no account. Create a free account when you want to place an order — name, email, mobile number, password, and a code sent to your email to confirm the address is yours. Add to cart, choose your delivery area, and check out. A flat delivery fee is added according to where you are, and it is shown before you confirm.
If you are selling
Send ₱50 to the QR code on the payment screen using GCash, Maya or any QR Ph banking app. Enter the reference number from your receipt and upload the screenshot. A real person checks it — usually quickly, but it is a manual step, not an automatic one. Once approved, your seller dashboard opens: unlimited listings, up to six photos each, your own stock and prices, and the buyer's delivery details on every order you receive.
Why sellers are checked by hand
Automatic approval is easy to build and easy to abuse. Checking each payment by hand is slower, and it is the reason the catalogue is not full of throwaway accounts. Email addresses are verified before an account can be used at all, mobile numbers are checked for a valid Philippine format, and disposable-inbox domains are refused.
It is not a guarantee. Nothing is. But it raises the cost of pretending to be a seller high enough that most people do not bother.
What the ₱50 covers
- Verification of your seller account by an administrator.
- Unlimited listings, with no listing fee, for as long as your account exists.
- No commission — the sale price is yours.
- Hosting for your photos, your storefront and your order history.
Buying from the same account stays free, whether or not you ever list anything.
Where we are
My Tindahan is run from Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, and delivers nationwide through its sellers. The site is operated by an independent owner rather than a registered corporation; the contact page reaches us directly.
